Gayatri Pariwar U.S.A. is an integral part of the world-wide Gayatri Pariwar movement, founded by Yugrishi Sri Ram Sharma Acharya and Mata Bhagawati Devi Sharma. Gayatri Pariwar is a spiritual movement that regenerates the highest human values around the world. Gayatri Pariwar (India) was founded in 1940 in order to uplift the oppressed in India and to rejuvenate divinity among its people.
Based on the principle of “Giving is the law of the Universe” (Yagya) and Wisdom (Vivek), Gayatri Pariwar U.S.A. in Washington DC is dedicated to ‘Serve God in Man’. Gayatri Pariwar U.S.A. is giving a helping hand to needy people; clothes to the hungry and homeless; scholarshps to deserving students; family counselling in the Washington area; and financial support for blind schools in India. We want to usher in a new way of living based on Gayatri Mantra in order to inspire divine culture by improving individuals, families and the beautiful Earth.
Gayatri Pariwar U.S.A. is involved in many religious and cultural activities: (1) Gayatri Gurukul for our youth on first Sunday of the month, from 10AM to 12 PM; (2) Geeta Study Class on first Sunday of the month, 2 PM to 4PM; (3) Gayatri Yagya/Deep Yagya performed on third Sunday of the month, from 11AM to 2 PM at our Parijans home; and (4) Study Class on Gurudev’s teaching, from 3PM to 4 PM at the Community Center. Gayatri Pariwar celebrates Vasant Panchami and Gurupurnima each year. Gayatri Pariwar also conducts Youth Camp for children each year in summer months. In addition, Gayatri Pariwar performs religious activities for our Parijans in Washington Metropolitan area:
  • Gayatri Yagya/ Deep Yagya;
  • Satyanarayan Katha;
  • Vivah Sanskar;
  • Grih Paravesh Sanskar;
  • Other Sanskars such as Punsavan, Namkaran, Mundan, Yagyopaveet, Janmadin & Vivahdin.
